New Intake
I am really excited to welcome you to Townsend Church of England School!
My name is Mr Potter, and I am looking forward to getting to know you as you begin your secondary school journey. Starting Year 7 is a big step, and I will be here to help and support you every step of the way. I will also be working closely with your parents and carers to make sure you have the guidance and support you need to feel happy, confident, and successful.
My role is not just to help you with your learning but also to help you grow as a person. Secondary school is a time to discover new interests, build friendships, develop confidence, and learn important life skills that will help you in the future.
At Townsend, our values of “Respect for All” and “Achievement for All” are an important part of school life. You will have lots of opportunities to show these values every day, whether in lessons, around school, or through extracurricular activities. We love celebrating success, and our rewards system recognises the positive choices and achievements of our students.
I want to encourage you to have a positive attitude and to believe in yourself. There may be times when things feel challenging, but that’s okay. By trying your best, learning from mistakes, and not giving up, you will achieve more than you might think possible.
There will be so many exciting opportunities for you to get involved in both inside and outside the classroom. Whether it’s joining a club, taking part in sports, trying something completely new, or discovering a subject you love, I encourage you to make the most of everything Townsend has to offer.
Enjoy the rest of your time at primary school, and I look forward to welcoming you to Townsend Church of England School in September.
