iPad Programme
We are very excited about the impact our iPad programme has had on teaching and learning at Townsend.
This is a fantastic opportunity for all students to have access to an iPad for use in lessons to support their learning, improve their progress and to allow greater collaboration with other students. Home Learning is supported as learning materials, revision materials and access to a vast array of apps and websites are available to all our students. They also learn about responsibility and safe use of the internet and devices; such important skills in this day and age.

1:1 iPad Programme
At Townsend Church of England School, we believe technology should enhance learning and help students develop the digital skills they need for the future. To support this, all students have access to an iPad as part of our 1:1 iPad programme.
From September 2026, we are working in partnership with EduTech to provide a new iPad scheme for families. This approach offers a simple and flexible way for families to access a high-quality learning device while ensuring that every student has the same opportunities both in and beyond the classroom.
The scheme includes:
- A new Apple iPad
- Protective case and screen protector
- Warranty and accidental damage cover
- Device setup and management
- Flexible payment options
- Transfer of device ownership to the family at the end of the agreement period
Families may also choose to purchase their own compatible iPad and have it enrolled onto the school’s management system. This ensures that all devices benefit from the same safeguarding, filtering, monitoring and educational software required for use in school.
