Careers in the racing industry
The British Racing School is a centre of excellence within horse racing and has been training young people to excel in the sport from their base in Newmarket, Cambridgeshire for over 40 years.
The racing school offers the following opportunities to young people:

A Foundation course for 16-24 year olds, an apprenticeship programme leading to a paid job in a racing yard (no riding experience necessary) – start dates throughout the year
- A two-year non-residential course for 16-18 year olds which starts each September

A Gap year programme for those finishing their A-Levels in Summer 2026, including a work placement in Australia
