Year 11 Revision Strategies Session
On Thursday 1 October, our Year 11 students took part in an inspiring Revision Strategies Session led by Dr Martijn van der Spoel from GLIA Learning. The session explored how memory works and introduced students to evidence-based revision techniques designed to improve retention and recall.
Students learned practical strategies including active recall, spaced practice and making connections between ideas, helping them to develop more effective and efficient study habits as they prepare for their mock examinations and GCSEs. The session provided valuable insight into how students can maximise their learning and make the most of their revision time.
We were particularly impressed by the excellent behaviour, positive attitude and enthusiastic engagement demonstrated by our Year 11 students throughout the session. They listened attentively, participated fully and showed a genuine commitment to applying the advice and strategies shared. Their conduct was a credit to both the year group and the school.
We would like to thank Dr Martijn van der Spoel and GLIA Learning for delivering such an informative and engaging session and wish our Year 11 students every success as they continue their GCSE preparations.
