Year 13 Mock Interview Morning
Our Year 13 students recently took part in a highly successful Mock Interview Morning, providing them with an invaluable opportunity to experience the realities of recruitment and selection processes ahead of university, apprenticeship and employment applications.
Students met with a wide range of employer volunteers from diverse professional sectors, including business, healthcare, education, finance, engineering and public services. This broad mix of industries ensured that students were exposed to different perspectives and expectations, helping them gain a deeper understanding of the skills and qualities sought by employers.
Throughout the morning, students responded to a variety of interview styles and questioning techniques. This challenged students to think critically, communicate effectively and adapt their responses in a professional environment.
The feedback from our employer volunteers was overwhelmingly positive. Students were praised for their conduct, professionalism, confidence and communication skills, with many interviewers commenting on how well prepared and engaged they were throughout the process. Several volunteers described the students as a real credit to both themselves and the school, highlighting their maturity, enthusiasm and ability to articulate their experiences and ambitions.
The event was a fantastic opportunity for students to build confidence, receive personalised feedback and develop the interview skills that will support them in their next steps beyond sixth form. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to all of the employer volunteers who generously gave their time and expertise to support our students.
