Year 11- Enrichment Afternoon
As part of our Enrichment Afternoon, Year 11 received a Breast Cancer Awareness talk from a CoppaFeel! Boobette Volunteer.
CoppaFeel! are the UK’s first breast cancer charity to solely raise awareness amongst young people, with the aim of instilling the knowledge and tools they need to know their bodies. Although a serious matter, the message is delivered in a light-hearted way, empowering young people to kick start healthy habits for life. Their volunteers visit schools and colleges to educate young people on the importance of getting to know their bodies.
The presentation covered the Boobette volunteers’ personal story, CoppaFeel! founder Kris’ story, breast cancer facts and myths, signs and symptoms, the work of the charity, how CoppaFeel! can remind young people to start self-checking and guidance on how to self-check.
