British Science Week Competition
We are excited to announce an engaging opportunity for our students to participate in this year’s British Science Week Poster Competition!
This competition encourages students to explore the theme of air quality by designing innovative solutions to improve the air we breathe in indoor public spaces.
About the competition
Students are invited to select an indoor public space they frequent, such as a classroom, library, café, or cinema, and consider whether the air in that space is healthy and clean. They will then develop an idea or invention to enhance air quality in their chosen space. This could be a completely new concept or a creative re-imagining of existing solutions, such as ventilation systems, air filters, or other technologies.
Participants should:
- Conduct research using trustworthy sources.
- Apply scientific understanding from their lessons (e.g., states of matter, virus behaviour).
- Present their ideas clearly and creatively through diagrams, instructions, or posters.
- Submission Guidelines
- Posters must be A4 or A3 in size.
- Entries should include photos, graphs, or visuals to effectively communicate ideas.
- Once completed, entries will be photographed and submitted online for judging.
- Each school may submit the top five entries.
The deadline for submissions is Friday 28th March, so please encourage your child to start brainstorming and designing soon! For more details and competition rules, visit the British Science Week website.
This is a wonderful chance for our students to showcase their creativity and scientific thinking while addressing an important global issue. We look forward to seeing their innovative ideas!
