February 5th -11th is National Apprenticeships week.

On Friday our Year 10 History students watched the play the ‘Inquisition of Queen Elizabeth I’ put on by School History Scene.

The play brought to life the main events students have studied in the Early Elizabeth England exam unit and was accompanied by an exam booster workshop.

Hertfordshire Music School Applications

Please see the below message from the Hertfordshire Music Service:

Applications for help with fees with Hertfordshire Music Service will be open for continuing students from the 1st February 2024.

Continuers (students who are continuing with lessons in the autumn term 2024) will be prioritised until 1st March 2024.

Applications for new students will then be open from 1st March 2024.

Lessons will continue until notice to withdraw is received as per the T&C’s. If your application is not accepted for help with fees in the next academic year lessons will be charged at the full price.

  • A new application for financial support is needed each year.
  • Please note the fund is a limited, capped fund.
  • We encourage financial support applications within the suggested timeline.
  • A separate application for financial support is required for each sibling.
  • Please be advised that being eligible does not guarantee financial support.

All the information and how to apply is available on the ‘Help with fees’ area of our website.

Funding is available at the 50% and 100% levels to help more children to discover or develop their musical voice.

Support at Townsend

At Townsend we have a variety of different support systems and clubs in place!

All students are welcome to come to the discovery centre, every break time and lunchtime to play chess and chat. On Fridays there will be games and puzzles to enjoy too!

Kate (Our Student and Family Wellbeing Lead) is available during lunchtimes in the wellbeing room locating on the humanities corridor.

We also have an LGBTQ+ drop in, which is on every Friday lunchtime in IT5 starting at 1:20pm-1:50pm. All our welcome!
