Year 11- Exam Timetable Information

February 15, 2024/in General News/by Isabelle Stuckey

Year 11 students were given a hard copy of their personal GCSE examination timetable on Thursday.

Their GCSE timetables can also be found on their Google Classroom and EduLink. Please take the time to check their timetables, please note the accuracy, for such things as their name (the name that is on their timetable will be the name on their certificates), DOB and their exam entries.

Please also make sure that your child has been entered for correct subjects and correct level for their Maths and Science subjects.

If there are any errors and any changes that need to be made students will need to speak to their form tutors, head of year (Mr Still) or the exams officer as soon as possible and no later than Thursday 29th February for the correct changes to be made.

Mrs Kovacevic

The OLLIE Foundation has an exciting opportunity to offer students who identify as LGBT+ and who may also be from a neurodiverse or neurodivergent background.

Please see the below flyer and message on behalf of the OLLIE foundation:

‘We are offering students in Years: 9/10/11 a safe space to access locally that will introduce them to the world of horticultural therapy through a weekly growing group, where we plan to meet indoors until spring comes at the Marshalswick Family Centre, we will provide a range of forest school activities, along with planning what to grow at the community garden and starting off seedlings. Our aim is to reduce suicidal ideation for young people from this community.’

Abbey Service- 14th Feb

February 9, 2024/in General News/by Isabelle Stuckey

We will be attending the cathedral for an Ash Wednesday service on Wednesday 14th February at 2pm.

All students will be attending, travelling from school to the cathedral by coach. For the next service in May, we will be walking to the abbey.

As per usual, students will be going home straight from the cathedral. There will be no Barnetts or Motts buses that afternoon.

There will, though, be transport for students, who need to be collected from school. If your child requires being brought back to school, please contact admin@townsend.herts.sch.uk by Friday 9th February to arrange a space. We cannot guarantee a space on a minibus if notified after this date.

For this service, we will be collecting donations for Stop the Traffik, a UK-founded international charity that works to prevent human trafficking and ensuring fair working conditions around the world, for example, in the chocolate industry. Donations can be made via School Gateway or in cash at school during form time collections or in the service.

Supporting this charity further demonstrates our Bible-based vision of ‘love your neighbour’, linked to the parable of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:25-37)
