Celebrate European Languages Week at Townsend!
Get ready for a week of languages, culture, competition and fun as we celebrate European Languages Week 2026!
There will be plenty of opportunities for students to test their knowledge, showcase their talents and win house points and prizes.
🍰 Years 7 & 8: MFL Bake-Off
Wednesday 30 September
Calling all budding bakers! Create a European-themed cake and bring it to the Small Canteen during AM registration on Wednesday 30 September. Impress our judges, earn house points, and you could even win a prize!
Important: All entries must include a full list of ingredients. This will help our judges identify any allergens or dietary requirements before tasting the cakes.
🎮 Years 8 & 9: French Blooket Challenge
Week commencing 28 September
Put your French skills to the test in our exciting Blooket Challenge during French lessons. Class winners will earn house points, and the top competitors will battle it out in a grand finale for prizes the following week.
🌍 All Years: European Form Time Quiz
How much do you know about Europe? Take part in our European-themed quiz during form time and challenge yourself to discover new facts about the continent, its countries and cultures.
🎬 Years 10, 11 & Sixth Form: French Film Experience
Join us in LA4 on Monday 28 September or Tuesday 29 September to watch an episode of the popular French TV series Lupin. Popcorn will be provided, making it the perfect way to experience French language and culture.
Whether you’re a keen linguist, a quiz champion, a talented baker or simply curious about other cultures, there’s something for everyone. We look forward to seeing students across the school getting involved and celebrating the richness and diversity of European languages.
