It is a charity that works alongside remote communities in Africa to establish and run a Care Point, which after a number of years is then run by the local church. Hands at Work is one of the Cathedral’s mission partners, and as a Cathedral school, we are also supporting them for the foreseeable future. Please see attached their latest update from Miswa in Zambia, the community we will be helping to support.

Congratulations to the Year 8 football team for getting a victory in their friendly last week.
Year 7 District Cup:
This week saw the Year 7 netball team kick off their season with a District Cup game against Roundwood Park School. We had 11 excited year 7s ready to play. The game started quickly with Roundwood Park scoring twice early on but once the Townsend team settled the game became more even. Roundwood Park extended their lead in the second and third quarters of the game, but Townsend managed to keep the fourth quarter at 0-0 whilst creating some chances to score. Roundwood Park finished the game victorious to progress in the District Cup, with Townsend now in the Plate competition and have been drawn against Beaumont.

Year 9 Basketball Match Report – Townsend vs Sir John Lawes
The Year 9 basketball team faced a tough challenge against Sir John Lawes, ultimately falling 34–2. Despite the difficult scoreline, the team showed great determination and teamwork throughout the game. Logan R managed to secure Townsend’s only basket, demonstrating strong effort and persistence on the court.
Special recognition goes to Lamech O and Miller G, who were named Players of the Match for their outstanding defensive work, commitment, and positive attitude from start to finish.
The team will be looking to bounce back in their next fixture against Hemel School on 8th December, where they’ll aim to build on their experience and show continued improvement.
