We need to be able to keep High Oaks and Sparrowswick Ride free of traffic to allow buses to get through and to enable residents to access their driveways. Cars should not be parked on dropped kerbs. We understand traffic wardens have been on the road this week and have been issuing penalty charge notices for cars parked on dropped kerbs. Many thanks for helping to keep our streets safe and calm.

Deputy Headteacher

Our students appreciated the opportunity to interact directly with university representatives and employers, which allowed them to ask specific questions about courses, campus life, and career options. The hands-on activities and workshops—such as mock crime scene investigations and interactive demonstrations—were particularly popular, providing a practical insight into different subject areas and careers. Many students left the event feeling more informed and motivated about their future pathways, whilst gaining a large collection of tote bags and pens, with a noticeable sense of excitement and enthusiasm on the journey home.
Below are some testaments from the day from our Year 12 students:
Maziah– I was pleased to find out more about accounting and finance, the talk I attended was very interesting.
Daniella – I think I found out more about my choice of universities and really appreciated the opportunity to talk to a wide range of Universities which enabled me to understand more about the different opportunities presented to me.
Geoffery – The student finance was very informative and gave a great insight into how the cost of university can be managed.
Attending the UCAS Convention empowered Year 12 students to make more confident, informed decisions about their next steps after sixth form. The combination of expert advice, interactive experiences, and personal engagement with universities and employers helped clarify their options and inspired them to take the next steps in their educational and career journeys.
Personal statements are a key part of the UCAS application and Year 12 students have started to write theirs and complete their UCAS application.
Please can parents/carers support students in ensuring their personal statement is of the highest quality.
For those wishing to apply to University, please see the below UCAS Deadlines:
