Red Nose Day!

March 8, 2024/in General News/by Isabelle Stuckey

As you may be aware, it is Red Nose Day next week, on Friday 15th March.

To celebrate this, we will be running a few fundraising events throughout the week. Starting on Monday, students will be able to guess how many sweets there are in a jar, with each guess costing 20p. Students are also encouraged to buy Red Nose Day merchandise from school gateway and then wear that into school on Friday.

Finally, our big event will be a Teacher vs Student dance off, held on Friday 15th March! There will be sign up sheets across the school and we are also going to send out a google form for students to register their interest on. It will cost 50p to watch the dance off, which will be held on the upper courts at lunch time. Viewers will then have the opportunity to choose the winner of the dance off at the end!

We hope to see you there!

Year 10 Food Technology

March 7, 2024/in General News/by Isabelle Stuckey

Our Year 10 Food Technology students had a very exciting visitor join us on Wednesday!

Will Dickinson came in on Wednesday to deliver a very interesting talk about the farming industry and sustainability.

Will is a local farmer that has a farm between Redbourn and Welwyn Garden City, he is also the chair of the NFU (National Farmers’ Union of England and Wales).

As part of their Food Technology GCSE curriculum students had the chance to look deeper into where food comes from and British farming.
