Annual parent carer survey for families with SEND

October 18, 2024/in General News/by Isabelle Stuckey

Please see the below information from Herts Parent Carer Involvement.

‘Herts Parent Carer Involvement exists to represent the views of the parents and carers of children and young people with SEND in Hertfordshire. We are an independent parent-led organisation, who work alongside Hertfordshire health, education and social care services, to help focus the decision makers on improving services and outcomes for children and young people with SEND.

We have launched our 2024 annual survey, to find out more about what families in Hertfordshire are experiencing. We want to know what works and what doesn’t, so that we can make sure we are concentrating on the areas that matter most to the families you support.

To complete the survey, families need to click here: www.surveymonkey.com/r/HPCISurvey2024

The survey is open until 3 November 2024′

St Albans & District Foodbank Update

October 18, 2024/in General News/by Isabelle Stuckey

Please see the below message from St Albans & District Foodbank.

‘We are pleased to announce the opening of a new St Albans & District foodbank distribution centre located at:

Holy Trinity Church, 37 Frogmore, AL2 2JU.

This new centre will be open every Wednesday from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM, starting on November 6th.

This additional location will provide essential food support to individuals and families in need within this community. We believe that this expansion will significantly enhance our ability to address food insecurity in the area, helping those that are too far from our other centres in the district.

Please feel free to refer clients to this new foodbank centre when it shows as available on the system, from 28th October. For any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Thank you for your continued support.’

St Albans Cathedral Visit

October 14, 2024/in General News/by Isabelle Stuckey

Last week a group of Year 7 students were able to attend St Albans Cathedral for their 40th Anniversary Celebration Service.

Below is a written description of the event by Faith D:

‘On Monday a group of children went to the Cathedral to see author Cressida Cowell explain the motivation behind her books and the importance of reading and writing. Cressida is the author of many well-known children’s books including, how to train your dragon and the wizards of once. Her holidays on an uninhabited island off the west coast of Scotland inspires her magical stories and she believes that anyone can become an author if they try their very hardest. The children had a lovely time out and were encouraged by her message.’
