The themes from the afternoon are below:
Year 7 – Spiritual Reflection (Step workshop)
Year 8 – Relationships and Sex Education
Year 9 – Careers
Year 10 – Spiritual Reflection
Year 11 – Relationships and Sex Education
There were lots of activities, talks and workshops throughout the year groups and all students had an informative afternoon.
Our drama students had the chance to see ‘La Traviata’ in the beautiful venue. They had a lovely time and also had the chance after the performance to see the London with all it’s Christmas cheer! Thank you, Mrs Coates, for organising the trip, it was an amazing experience!
We are asking for any donation you are able to give. The student leadership team will be standing at the gates to collect the donations in the morning. Sixth Form students are also allowed to wear pyjamas or a onesie if they would like to.
Thank you
The Student Leadership Team
Year 12 students had their sessions tailored around careers, which was a very informative afternoon teaching students about how to write the perfect CV. They also looked at their own ‘personal brand’ and how they present themselves to employers. Then finally year 12 students looked at money and finance when entering the world of work.
Our year 13 students had an informative talk about applying to university and apprenticeships, completing personal statements, UCAS applications and apprenticeship applications.
As well as our Sixth Form Open Evening, we are also hosting Open Mornings! The dates for our open mornings are Thursday 30th November and Thursday 7th December, both starting at 9:30am-11:30am. If you would like to book onto an open morning tour, please email: admin@townsend.herts.sch.uk or phone us on: 01727 853047.
Hopefully you had the chance to see all of the teachers that you needed to. There will be a short questionnaire that will be sent out shortly via email, so please look out for that. If you have any questions or queries please get in touch.
Kind regards,
Mr Still
Head of Year 11
Please see the Year 11 Mock Timetable attached. We are now 2 weeks away before these exams start. Please support your child with work/revision over the next month or so in what will be a reasonably stressful situation. This will be a good practice for the real GCSE’s, so please make sure they feel confident, and do the best they possibly can. Please let me know if there are further support mechanisms we can put in place.
We are very excited to invite you to come and watch, the students are working hard to create a fantastic show which will be suitable for all the family to enjoy the festive fun.
Tickets prices are £6 per adult and £4 per child and can be purchased on School Gateway (please do not send cash to school). On School Gateway, please calculate the correct amount for the number of adult and child tickets you require. For example, if you require three adult tickets please pay £18 in the adult section, if you require two child tickets please pay £8 in the child section. The numbers are limited to 200 spaces per performance and will be sold on a first come, first served basis. To gain entry upon arrival on the performance night, your name will be checked against our master payment list.
If you have any questions please contact the school office on 01727 853047 or email Mrs Coates via drama@townsend.herts.sch.uk or phone.
