Anti-Bullying Week

November 17, 2023/in General News/by Steve Telford

This Anti-Bullying Week the students have come together to have discussions about what bullying means to us, how banter can turn into something more hurtful, and what we can do to stop bullying.

Throughout this week there have been different activities each day to help promote change and bring an end to bullying. Students have been learning and educating themselves in their form time through quizzes and educational video clips on how to prevent bullying in the future.

One of our activities this week has been biscuit decorating with anti-bullying slogans! Look out for some more pictures of the events that have taken place this week, that will come out on our social media accounts later!

November 17, 2023/in General News/by Steve Telford

On Thursday evening, a group of yr9 to yr12 Townsend students and staff went to see ‘The Ocean at the End of the Lane’ at the Noel Coward Theatre.

The staff and students had a lovely evening out, enjoying the unique and unusual theatre production. The production was about a young boy’s journey through a series of magical and terrifying events, which uncovers a magical world! Thank you to Mrs Coates for organising the theatre trip!

Year 12 Psychology Lessons

November 15, 2023/in General News/by Steve Telford

Some of our yr12 psychology students have been using Skittles to understand ‘sampling’.

The purpose of this activity is to dive deeper into the five sampling methods used within psychology which are: random, opportunity, volunteer, systematic and stratified.

Our yr12 psychology students are also looking after ‘baby’ eggs currently, to also look into attachment theory! Fingers crossed they don’t crack!
