GCSEpod – an extremely useful revision tool!

January 16, 2025/in General News/by Isabelle Stuckey

All GCSE students have access to GCSEpod and many already use it regularly.

For each subject, there are a series of 3-4 minute pods/videos that teach knowledge and then there are many different types of tasks to practise that knowledge so it sticks! GCSEpod claims that, if used regularly, a student can increase their grade by one grade!

If a student does not have an account, all they need to create one is their name, a self-selected username and password, their date of birth and the school name.

This 30 minute webinar is designed for parent/carers and students to help them get going.

Young Carer Support

December 20, 2024/in General News/by Isabelle Stuckey

Young Carers – A young carer is anyone who is under 18 and looks after someone who is ill, disabled or uses drugs or alcohol, is a young carer.

This often involves doing tasks that would normally be done by an adult, such as:

● cooking meals
● going shopping
● making sure a loved one takes their medicine
● emotional support

We would like to support Young Carers in our community, however it can difficult to identify if students are Young Carers.

If you believe your child may be a Young Carer, please get in touch with your Child’s form tutor or Head of Year.

Please see the attached leaflet for support in Hertfordshire for Young Carers.
