Henley Business School for Year 12 Students

April 17, 2026/in General News/by Isabelle Stuckey

Pathways to Property is a charitable programme run by Henley Business School that’s designed to raise awareness about the vast range of careers available within the Real Estate industry for students in Year 12.

It is being held at the University of Reading on 14 – 17 July 2026. All travel, accommodation and food will be paid for. Students will continue to be supported after their attendance.

The fully funded four-day course is ideal for students who have an interest in the property sector and who would like to learn more about the industry. Over the course of four days, your students will:

  • Sit in on taster lectures
  • Visit a large development site and learn how they operate
  • Get involved in group projects and debates
  • Develop key skills such as networking and presentation skills
  • Attend a mini careers fair with leading names from the industry
  • Hear from industry professionals about the incredible career opportunities available via degrees and apprenticeships
  • Stay in our university halls, gaining a first-hand experience of university life

Students who attend our Summer School will be invited to carry out a work experience placement in October and participate in an e-mentoring programme.

We will continue to support students through our Propel alumni programme sending them relevant information. If they choose to undertake a property industry focused degree or qualification, they will be eligible to apply for up to £30,000 in bursary funding and if they study Real Estate at Reading University they will receive a guaranteed conditional contextual offer plus a welcome bursary.

Sixth Form Enrichment – Careers

March 27, 2026/in General News/by Isabelle Stuckey

It was a pleasure to welcome in PC Alex, PC David  and PC Ben to speak to Year 12s about careers in the police force and routes and pathways to students wishing to pursue this avenue.

They spoke about their roles and basics of training before demonstrating and interacting with students showing them their kit and all the accessories!

Year 12 students also had the opportunity it’s to work on their CV’s and looking at ‘what makes an employer good to work for’, two essential skills especially with the upcoming work experience week in the summer term.

British Physics Olympiad

March 27, 2026/in General News/by Isabelle Stuckey

Our A level Physicists took part in the 2026 Senior Physics Challenge for problem solving, which is highly prestigious and extremely challenging, even for the most able and high achieving students in the country.

Between the students, they outperformed the majority of the country Nationally.

Amaha S in Year 12 says:

“The Olympiad was a great opportunity to see Physics at A Level we don’t really cover in lesson. Each part of it, from the preparing with past papers, extra revision sessions, and actually sitting the paper, was a refreshing experience that helped us understand the subject on a much deeper level.”

From British Physics Olympiad:

“If your student has managed to achieve a number of marks on this paper, then they should be very proud of their achievement and you should congratulate them. They are amongst the best in the country taking a paper specifically set out to challenge them.”
